hi,i’m brenna taylor-ford, LCSW
Most of the people I work with look “fine” from the outside — they’re capable, thoughtful, and the ones everyone else leans on. But on the inside, they’re tired. Anxious. Disconnected. They’ve been pushing through for so long that it’s hard to remember what calm even feels like.
I know that place well — the one where you’re functioning but not really feeling. That’s often where the real work begins.
Like many of the people I work with, I’ve experienced anxiety, depression, and the emotional upheaval that can come with major life transitions, including postpartum changes. Those experiences shaped not only my empathy, but also my belief that healing happens through honesty, compassion, and connection — not perfection.
I became a therapist because I’ve seen how much strength it takes to hold it all together — and how life changes when you finally have a space to let go of that pressure. My role is to help you understand what’s actually happening beneath the surface: the patterns that drive the anxiety, burnout, or relationship strain, and the emotions that have been quietly shaping your choices.
My style is warm, grounded, and straightforward. I’m not a silent observer — I’m actively engaged, helping you see connections, challenge old habits, and practice ways of relating that feel more authentic and less exhausting.
Credentials
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Mill Valley, California. My work draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), attachment theory and mindfulness — blending practical tools with deeper emotional insight. I specialize in anxiety, burnout, parenthood transitions, and relationships.
When I’m not in session
You’ll usually find me at a coffee shop, on a trail with friends, or with my kids somewhere in the Marin sunshine. I believe the work we do in therapy is ultimately about helping you live out there — more connected, present, and alive in your everyday life.
